From humble beginnings in 2001, Microsoft's Xbox installed base will rise to over 35 million units by 2006, according to this weeks figures from Datamonitor Researchwire.
London, (ResearchWire) - It is extremely unlikely that sales of the Xbox will ever match that of the PS2. However the Xbox's relatively late launch means that it has gained clear technological advantage over its competitors and has the fastest processor speed and the greatest graphical capabilities of the three consoles. It is expected that by the end of 2005, the installed base of the Xbox will have exceeded 35 million units.
